Saatchi & Saatchi has emerged the winner of a global pitch for Taiwanese computer maker Acer.
Led by the Singapore office, Saatchi’s saw off competition from the Singapore and Japan offices of Dentsu Aegis, Grey London and the Shanghai and Amsterdam offices of DDB.
Saatchi’s will work closely with Acer’s branding agency, Red Peak. This is the first time Acer has appointed a global agency of record.
The pitch process was handled by Roth Observatory, and began at the end of last year. The consultancy’s managing partner for APAC,Paul Davies, said:“Saatchi & Saatchi’s delivered on all the key criteria Acer identified as critical in achieving their marketing objectives and will help them continue with their growth and success.”
Maarten Schellekens, Acer’s CMO, commented: “We are delighted to appoint Saatchi & Saatchi as our global creative agency. We are excited about the intelligence, ideas and passion Saatchi’s have demonstrated throughout the process and about the journey we will go on together. The IT market is very competitive and cluttered and we believe the work we will do together with Saatchi’s will differentiate Acer and help us go forward.”
