New Delhi: The Indian Express Group will host the 19th edition of the Ramnath Goenka Awards for Excellence in Journalism on March 19 at The Oberoi, New Delhi. Honourable President Droupadi Murmu will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and present the prestigious awards to journalists who have demonstrated courage, integrity, and excellence in reporting.
Recognizing the best of journalism from 2023, this year’s awards span 20 categories and have been selected by a distinguished jury, including:
- B N Srikrishna, Former Supreme Court Judge
- Prof. C Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor, O P Jindal Global University
- Prof. K G Suresh, Former Vice Chancellor, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication
- Rohini Nilekani, Chairperson, Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies & Co-founder, EkStep
- Dr. S Y Quraishi, Former Chief Election Commissioner
Established in 2005, the Ramnath Goenka Awards celebrate the legacy of Ramnath Goenka, the founder of The Indian Express Group. The awards honour print and broadcast journalists who have exhibited exceptional commitment to journalism, often working under challenging or dangerous conditions.
Over the years, the event has been attended by esteemed dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, former President A P J Abdul Kalam, and former Chief Justices of India.
