Mumbai: Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced that Leo Puri has resigned from his position as an Independent Director, effective June 30, 2025.
According to the company, Puri’s decision comes in light of his increasing board commitments, including a proposed appointment to the board of a global entity. His resignation aligns with the overboarding criteria for Independent Directors as prescribed under European Corporate Governance requirements.
With his departure, Puri will also step down as Chairperson of the Risk Management Committee and Member of the Audit Committee, as informed by HUL to stock exchanges.
Puri has served as an Independent Director at HUL since October 2018, playing a key role in Audit, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and Risk Management Committees.
His distinguished career spans over three decades, including leadership roles as Managing Director of UTI Asset Management Company Limited (2013-2018), a Director at McKinsey & Company, and Managing Director at Warburg Pincus.
