New Delhi: Nothing, the London-based technology company, has appointed its Co-founder Akis Evangelidis as India President. In his new role, Akis will lead the company’s strategic direction and expansion in India, a key market for the brand’s global growth.
India has played a pivotal role in Nothing’s remarkable rise in the consumer technology space. In 2024, Nothing emerged as the fastest-growing brand in India’s smartphone market, registering an impressive +577% year-over-year growth (source: Counterpoint Q4 2024 India Smartphone Tracker). This success has been driven by strong demand for the Phone (2a) Series and the brand’s sub-brand, CMF by Nothing. Akis’s appointment further underscores India’s critical importance to Nothing’s long-term business strategy.
Akis Evangelidis, who remains the Co-Founder of Nothing, shared his excitement about his new role: “India is one of the most important markets for Nothing, and we believe there is a tremendous opportunity to become a leading consumer tech brand in the country. I’m very excited to step into this new role and continue to bring distinctive, design-led tech innovations to Indian consumers. India will play a pivotal role in the global smartphone industry in the years to come, and we’re committed to accelerating our ‘Make in India’ initiatives and boosting domestic production. In 2025, we’re doubling down by ramping up our investments in India and expanding our offline presence to 12,000+ stores.”
Reinforcing its dedication to India, Nothing recently announced that its upcoming Phone (3a) Series, set to launch on March 4th at 3:30 PM IST, will be manufactured in Chennai. This move highlights the company’s commitment to expanding its manufacturing footprint in India as part of its broader efforts to contribute to the country’s technology ecosystem and growth.
