India: With a motive to bring action closer to its fans, Radio City, India’s leading radio network, announced its well-planned partnership with the World Pickleball League (WPBL) as the official radio partner for the 2025 season. This alliance set the stage for pickleball’s rapid growth across India, bringing the sport at the forefront through the channel’s extensive reach and engaging programming. As a global leader in the sport, WPBL is dedicated to expanding pickleball’s popularity by hosting high-intensity competitions and delivering a thrilling experience for fans.
WPBL 2025 has marked India’s first-ever professional pickleball league, that featured 6 dynamic teams who competed at the iconic Cricket Club of India (CCI), Mumbai. The tournament, powered by PNG Jewellers, delivered 90 matches, 48 international players, and 10 days of adrenaline-pumping action. Fans watched all the action live on Sony Sports Ten 2 and Fancode as well as secured their tickets via Swiggy Scenes for an electrifying stadium experience during January 24th to February 2nd, 2025.
As part of this association, Radio City’s RJs conducted exclusive interviews with players, team owners, and key stakeholders, offering listeners unique behind-the-scenes insights. The excitement was amplified through on-air and digital contests, interactive segments, and fun encounters with both players and audiences.
