Chennai: Indian Bank has appointed Binod Kumar as its new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr. Kumar, who assumed office today, brings with him over three decades of extensive banking experience and a strong track record of leadership and innovation.
Before joining Indian Bank, Mr. Kumar served as the Executive Director of Punjab National Bank (PNB) since November 2022. In this role, he managed critical portfolios including Corporate Banking, Treasury Division, International Banking, Finance Division, and Data Analytics & Warehousing. His illustrious career at PNB also saw him take on roles such as Chief General Manager (Corporate Credit), Zonal Manager, and CEO of PNB Operations at the Dubai International Financial Centre.
A science graduate with a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance from the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), Mr. Kumar is also a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certified by GARP (USA), a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB), and holds a diploma in Treasury Investment and Risk Management. He has further honed his leadership skills through a development program at IIM Bangalore.
