Mumbai: Bollywood and South Indian film star Rakul Preet Singh and her husband, actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani, open the doors to their exquisitely designed dream home in the latest episode of Asian Paints’ “Where The Heart Is.” The couple offers an exclusive tour, sharing insights into the process of creating a space that embodies love, tranquility, and their shared philosophy of wellness.
“Home is the energy you build,” Rakul says. “No matter how hard your day has been, the moment you get back home, you feel this sigh of relief—home sweet home.”
Their thoughtfully designed home captures the couple’s love for earthy tones and textures, balanced with vibrant accents. Each space tells a story, blending elegance with comfort, while reflecting their values of positivity and mindfulness.
The couple’s bedroom serves as their sanctuary, blending wooden shades with lighter hues to create an open, positive space. “Both of us love it—elegant, yet simple. It’s a happy, bright home that we always look forward to coming back to,” Jackky shares.
The formal living room, a cheerful and inviting space, features yellow and green couches contrasted with warm wooden accents. Rakul emphasizes her fondness for wooden textures, saying they lend timeless elegance and warmth to the home.
Her favorite spot, which she affectionately calls the Cozy Room, uses contrasting silver accents in a brown-beige palette to craft a serene yet eye-catching ambiance. “This is the space we use to laugh, dance, sing, eat, and just chill,” Rakul explains.
Rakul reflects on the influence of her Hyderabad journey, where she began her acting career, and her upbringing in a serene cantonment environment. “Hyderabad is where my dream of becoming an actor came true. The love and support I’ve received from the Telugu film industry and its audience will always be close to my heart.” Her connection to the city is mirrored in the home’s decor, which combines modern aesthetics with nostalgic warmth. She also credits her upbringing in the cantonment environment for influencing her love for simplicity and greenery. “The white walls, green lawns, and calmness of my childhood home are reflected here,” she noted.
Wellness is central to their lifestyle, with the couple stressing the importance of health and balance. “The only place you truly live in is your body,” Rakul said. “If you can’t take care of it, what’s the point of taking care of material things? Wellness starts here, in the heart and the mind.”
The couple’s home radiates positivity and warmth, mirroring their values of love and togetherness. “If our walls could speak, they’d say we’re all about love, friendship, and laughter,” Rakul concludes.
