MUMBAI: Wim Wenders’ ‘Perfect Days’ was the most watched film in India on MUBI in 2024. ‘While We Watched’ and the genre-defying Golden Globe winning ‘The Substance’ make up the top three.
The global streaming service, production company and film distributor has unveiled its 2024 Retrospective, a year-ender summary, which celebrates the diverse cinematic journeys of its users. The Retrospective offers insights into the year’s viewing trends, inviting users to reflect on their film-watching experiences. This year, MUBI’s Retrospective highlights show ‘Perfect Days’ as India’s most-watched film, with Wim Wenders crowned as the top director. Adding to the accolades, Perfect Days star Koji Yakusho has been recognised as the top actor, winning the hearts of viewers across the nation. In second place was Vinay Shukla’s Peabody Award winner ‘While We Watched ‘and rounding off the top three, was Coralie Fargeat’s multiple award winner ‘The Substance’, for which Demi Moore was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Female Actor – Musical/Comedy, this week.
