Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Mara Creations, a leading original IP content house, has joined forces with global kids’ and family entertainment major Toonz Media Group to distribute the enchanting 2D animation series, “Sriman Rama”, worldwide. The series uniquely explores the childhood engagements of Ram Lalla, as Lord Rama was affectionately called in his younger years.
Conceived and directed by National Film Award winner Satyakashi Bhargava, “Sriman Rama” celebrates the life lessons and virtues of Lord Rama, revered as Maryada Purushottama, the epitome of ideal humanity. The series delves into his qualities of benevolence, camaraderie, sacrifice, and valor, showcasing their relevance in the modern world. The episodes bring to life Rama’s joyful interactions with his brothers Lakshmana, Bharata, and Shatrughna; his friends Guha and Suyajna; and his elder sister Shantha—offering a fresh, adventure-filled perspective on his childhood, rarely explored in any format before.
Satyakashi Bhargava, Writer and Director of “Sriman Rama” and Promoter of Mara Creations, remarked, “Rama is an epitome of humanity and ideal human being. His life is full of positivity, righteousness, hope, and optimism no matter what life hurled on him. Inspired by the eternal Valmiki Ramayana, we created these wonderful stories from his childhood, which are full of fun, adventure, and learning. It’s our wish and hope that these stories will surely inspire and engage the children of Bharat and around the world. I’m extremely happy and optimistic with this association with Toonz Media Group, which has been doing great work in bringing out the best content and taking it to a wider audience. Needless to say, ‘Sriman Rama’ too will enthrall audiences around the world.”
P. Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Media Group, emphasized the cultural significance of the series, “It is a privilege to collaborate with Mara Creations in bringing to the world the captivating adventures of Ram. India, with its deep cultural heritage and centuries-old tradition of storytelling, remains largely unexplored. If harnessed, it holds the potential to be a vast treasure trove of narratives that will resonate with audiences globally. We see it as our responsibility to unlock this well of possibilities, showcasing to the world the immense creativity and richness of our storytelling legacy, and demonstrating what we are truly capable of.”
“Sriman Rama” is already making waves on DD National, where it has aired in Hindi for the past three months, gaining significant traction among viewers. The series will soon be accessible on Prasar Bharathi’s recently launched OTT platform, Waves, and plans are underway to release it in multiple languages to reach a broader audience.
