Mumbai: In a bid to make responsible advertising training more accessible, ASCI Academy, the education arm of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), has launched Hindi versions of its flagship e-learning courses: The ASCI Guide to Responsible Advertising and The Responsible Influencing Playbook.
Initially introduced in English in April 2024, these courses aim to equip advertisers, marketers, influencers, and other professionals with the knowledge and tools to create trustworthy brands while ensuring compliance with advertising regulations. With a significant portion of advertisements and influencer content being created in Hindi or targeting Hindi-speaking audiences, this move expands the reach of industry-relevant training to a broader demographic.
Manisha Kapoor, CEO & Secretary General of ASCI, highlighted the importance of the initiative, “The growing scrutiny on advertisements and endorsements reflects the need to safeguard consumer interest. Many violations, even though unintentional, arise from a lack of awareness, which is why these courses become important. They equip participants to stay compliant, connect with their audiences, and build trustworthy brands. The Hindi courses are a positive step toward training for professionals and influencers who prefer to learn in Hindi.”
The courses are designed to provide practical tools and insights to help professionals navigate evolving regulatory requirements:
- The ASCI Guide to Responsible Advertising: Tailored for advertisers, agencies, and marketers, this course focuses on aligning campaigns with ASCI’s self-regulatory framework. Participants learn to avoid misleading claims, adhere to advertising codes, and balance creativity with responsibility through real-life examples and actionable takeaways.
- The Responsible Influencing Playbook: Specifically designed for influencers and professionals in influencer marketing, this course offers guidance on disclosure norms, authentic endorsements, and compliance with platform-specific and legal standards. The interactive modules are concise and engaging, making them accessible to a wide audience.
Participants who complete these courses receive certifications, enhancing their professional credentials and demonstrating a commitment to responsible practices.
Since its launch, ASCI Academy has collaborated with over 80 alliance partners, including Hindustan Unilever, Mondelez, Himalaya Wellness, Whistling Woods International, Xavier Institute of Communications, and Publicis Group. The Hindi versions are expected to attract even more professionals, fostering a culture of responsibility and trust in advertising across the Hindi-speaking regions.
