Mumbai: GRM Overseas, an exporter of Basmati rice and a prominent player in the country’s FMCG sector, has appointed Barun Prabhakar as its new Group Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In this pivotal role, Barun will oversee the brand marketing strategies for GRM’s diverse portfolio, encompassing both domestic and international brands. He will play a key part in enhancing the company’s presence across global markets while focusing on the growth of its Food FMCG business.
With over 20 years of experience in business growth, brand building, and leading high-performance teams, Barun brings a wealth of expertise to GRM. His extensive background in the consumer industry includes successful stints at leading companies such as Leayan Global (Red Chief Shoes), Wildcraft, Woodland, and most recently Liberty Shoes, where he revitalized the brand with innovative campaigns that successfully appealed to younger demographics.
GRM’s flagship home brand, 10X, offers essential staples like Basmati rice, atta, and oil. The company’s modern brand, Faashta, is focused on ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat products such as biryani kits, noodles, and poha. Additionally, GRM has made a strategic acquisition of the contemporary coffee brand RAGE, further expanding its portfolio with new-age food solutions.
