At just 18 years old, Gukesh Dommaraju has already made history in the world of chess. He is the youngest-ever contender to compete for the World Chess Championship, and the third youngest grandmaster to achieve a rating of 2700. Gukesh is set to challenge the reigning world chess champion Ding Liren at the World Chess Championship 2024 in Singapore, which takes place from November 23 to December 13, 2024.
