New Delhi: The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) for qualified Commercial and Marketing Agents to help drive the commercial growth and visibility of the inaugural Shooting League of India (SLI). This marks a significant step as the NRAI looks to build momentum for India’s first-ever franchise-based professional shooting league, set to launch in 2025.
The SLI will feature 6-8 franchise teams from across India and is expected to become a major platform for the sport in the country. The selected agency will play a key role in generating revenue, securing sponsorships, and enhancing audience engagement. Agencies interested in submitting proposals can find further details of the EOI and the Scope of Work on the NRAI website at www.thenrai.in. The submission deadline is 25th November 2024.
NRAI President, Kalikesh Narayana Singh Deo, emphasized the strategic importance of the league, saying, “We are committed to revolutionizing shooting in India. The sport has gained significant momentum following our success at the Paris Olympics, and the time is right for businesses to invest in this growing sector. We look forward to partnering with agencies that align with our vision and can drive the league’s commercial success.”
The SLI will feature six shooting disciplines: 10M Pistol, 25M Pistol, 10M Rifle, 50M 3P Rifle, Trap, and Skeet, with both men and women shooters participating across multiple events. The league has already received in-principle approval from the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), building on India’s growing reputation as a shooting powerhouse following a stellar performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
This new league, which was announced in October and approved by the NRAI governing body, comes on the heels of the successful ISSF World Cup 2024 held in New Delhi and India’s upcoming role as host for the Junior Shooting World Cup in 2025. The SLI is seen as a crucial step in furthering the sport’s commercial potential and establishing shooting as a mainstream, competitive spectacle in India.
