New Delhi: Disney Star India has won the tender to produce a web series commemorating the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) 90-year journey, securing the contract for Rs 6.5 crore. The RBI, which was established in 1935, celebrated its 90th anniversary in April this year.
Several major players, including Viacom 18, Zee Entertainment, and Discovery Communications India, competed for the project after the RBI issued a request for proposal (RFP) in July. Zee and Discovery did not make it past the technical evaluation, leaving Star India and Viacom 18 in the final round.
The web series will consist of five episodes, each around 25-30 minutes long, aimed at enhancing public understanding of the RBI’s critical role in India’s economy. The series will be aired on national TV channels or OTT platforms and will feature expert interviews, high-quality visuals, and storytelling to explain the RBI’s functions, vision, and achievements.
The RBI aims for the series to boost transparency, trust, and confidence in its operations and policies while making complex financial concepts accessible to a broad audience. The series will also showcase the RBI’s significant initiatives and ongoing developments in the financial sector.
This initiative is part of the RBI’s efforts to engage the public and improve financial literacy.
