Set in a modern family environment, the film follows Mr. Shekhar Verma as he prepares his will with a lawyer. While his daughter Shreya assists in gathering the necessary documents, it becomes evident that only his son Arjun is designated as the heir. The mother, portrayed by Shefali Shah, subtly yet effectively challenges this decision, reminding her husband that while their daughter is affectionately called “beta” (son) in daily life, she is referred to as “beti” (daughter) when it comes to inheritance. This poignant moment compels him to reconsider the ingrained biases in his decision-making.
