Mumbai: Amazon Ads has introduced its image generation capability in beta for advertisers in India, leveraging generative AI to streamline the creative process and enhance ad performance. This innovative solution aims to provide brands with the ability to produce lifestyle imagery at scale, addressing a significant challenge faced by nearly 75% of advertisers in a March 2023 survey, who cited difficulties in creating effective ad creatives.
Girish Prabhu, Head of Amazon Ads India, emphasized the tool’s potential to simplify creative development for brands lacking in-house capabilities or agency support. By using generative AI models along with product information, the feature can generate unique, brand-themed product images in seconds, making it easier for advertisers to optimize their campaigns.
For instance, placing a toaster in a lifestyle context—such as on a kitchen counter—can boost click-through rates by up to 40% compared to standard product images. Early adopters of the image generation tool have reported a 20% increase in campaign submissions, showcasing its effectiveness in enabling brands to experiment with various creative options.
Melissa Burdick, president and co-founder of Pacvue, highlighted the tool’s role in eliminating creative barriers and enhancing ROI through reduced production costs and expedited testing processes. The user-friendly interface allows advertisers to simply select their product and click “Generate” within the Amazon Ad Console, producing lifestyle images in seconds while ensuring that product images remain real, with only the backgrounds AI-generated.
This development marks a significant step in the evolution of digital advertising, as Amazon Ads continues to innovate and provide advertisers with effective tools to enhance their market reach and campaign performance.
