New Delhi: The Digital Infrastructure Providers Association (DIPA) has announced a significant leadership transition during its Annual General Meeting, marking a pivotal step in advancing India’s digital infrastructure.
Prachur Sah, CEO and Managing Director of Indus Towers, has been appointed as the new Chairman of DIPA. Dr. Sushil Kumar Chaturvedi, Group CEO of Ascend Telecom, will serve as the new Vice Chairman. This leadership change underscores DIPA’s focus on enhancing the digital landscape in India.
Sah brings over 30 years of telecom experience, having made substantial contributions to the development of India’s telecom infrastructure. His leadership has been crucial in the rollout of 4G and 5G networks, reflecting his commitment to a digitally connected India.
Dr. Chaturvedi, with 37 years of global experience in telecommunications, has held key positions in major telecom organizations. As an ITS officer and former Director of BSNL, he was instrumental in introducing cellular services and optical fiber connectivity. His distinguished service has earned him the President’s Medal for his contributions to the sector.
Commenting on his appointment and DIPA’s future direction, Prachur Sah, the new Chairman, said, “I am honored to lead DIPA at this crucial juncture in India’s digital journey. Our nation has already established itself as a global leader in 5G rollout and deployment, and we are now setting our sights on the 6G stack. The IP1 sector is well-established and fully prepared to enhance the rollout of 6G in India. Dr. Sushil Kumar Chaturvedi, the new Vice Chairman, shared his vision, “India’s telecom sector stands at the cusp of a transformative era.
