Gurugram: Groyyo, a platform for cross-border manufacturing and supply chain in the Fashion and Lifestyle sectors, is enhancing its leadership team with key new appointments. Smita Verma Kansal, former SVP and founding member at Geniemode, has been named Chief Business Officer in Abu Dhabi. She brings extensive experience from her previous roles at Geniemode and the Brands and Sourcing Leaders Association (BSL).
Additionally, Alessandro Bertini has been appointed as Vice President – Commercial. His background in business development, strategy, and assortment will support Groyyo’s expansion efforts. Together, they aim to innovate and enhance the company’s platform solutions to digitize over 20 million SME manufacturers across Asia and help them access global markets.
Smita Verma Kansal has 26 years of experience in strategic and operations leadership, specializing in sourcing, negotiation, and management. She has worked in various capacities for companies such as Triburg, Li & Fung, PDS, and Pepkor Global Sourcing, focusing on multi-product categories in Bangladesh and India for UK, European, and US markets. An alumnus of IIM Kashipur and NMIMS, she will focus on onboarding international brands and strengthening partnerships with companies like Mango, Next, and Inditex, while driving growth in exports to the U.S.
Alessandro Bertini, known as Alex, brings a wealth of experience in the fashion industry, having collaborated with notable brands like MANGO and Massimo Dutti. He has a proven track record in managing partnerships with various major brands, including Esprit and Benetton Group, which will be vital for Groyyo’s growth strategy.
