National: Post pandemic, India has seen a notable drop in organ donations nationwide. To combat this, BIG FM is launching ‘Bano India Ke Ang Daata’ campaign to promote organ donations. Expanding from successful campaigns in Mumbai, this initiative aims to boost registrations nationwide.
The campaign on 58 BIG FM stations will be led by well-known RJs such as Vrajesh Hirjee, Akriti, Sangram, Nayana, Uday, and Juhie, all already organ donors. Over six weeks, various activities will be conducted both on-air and on-ground to promote organ donation through advocacy, stories, polls, and interactions with celebrities, influencers, doctors, and a specially created awareness song by Aaman Trikha.
The radio network has partnered with NOTTO to promote organ donation, involving RJs, regional authorities, and community leaders. BIG FM teams will conduct on-ground activities to raise awareness and encourage organ donation through street plays at RWAs and corporate offices.
Talking about the campaign, Sunil Kumaran, COO, BIG FM expressed, “After the overwhelming success of our last two campaigns in Mumbai, we are now scaling up by taking this initiative’Bano India Ke Ang Daata’ nationwide. Our endeavor has always been to create a positive impact that leads to tangible outcomes and this expansion is a testament to that commitment. Our team hopes to save many lives by increasing organ donation registrations and promoting a culture of empathy and support.”
BIG FM will run an awareness campaign in Mumbai metro with hoardings. Previous campaigns led to successful organ donations. Celebrities like Shankar Mahadevan, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza, Nandita Das, and Farah Khan, along with Zonal Transplant Coordination Centre (ZTCC), supported the initiative.
