In a recent development, JioCinema has strongly refuted allegations of obscenity in its popular show Bigg Boss OTT, which stemmed from a video clip currently making rounds on digital media. The clip in question, purporting to be part of the show, has been labelled as doctored by the platform.
The official statement from JioCinema read, “JioCinema adheres to strict programming standards and guidelines to ensure the quality and appropriateness of any content that streams on our platform. Bigg Boss OTT, which was streamed on JioCinema, did not have any such content. The video clip in circulation is doctored to include obscenity and is fake.”
The statement also said that the platform is committed to protecting the integrity of JioCinema and the trust our viewers place in us. The creation and circulation of this fake clip is a matter of very serious concern.
“Our teams are working towards identifying the origins of this clip and will initiate action against those responsible for creating and distributing such defamatory content against Bigg Boss OTT and JioCinema,” said a JioCinema spokesperson.
The issue began when an intimate video allegedly featuring Bigg Boss OTT contestant Armaan Malik and his second wife, Kritika, was leaked online. The video has sparked considerable controversy and raised concerns about privacy and the unauthorized distribution of personal content.
While JioCinema has clarified that the fake clip is not part of their platform’s content, the leak of the intimate video has brought additional scrutiny to the privacy measures in place for reality TV contestants.
