Bengaluru: Ayesha Khanum, a seasoned journalist and news anchor, has resigned from her position as Chief Correspondent-South at Doordarshan News, effective 30th June 2024.
Ayesha Khanum, known for her in-depth reporting and anchoring of various news programs and major political eventa has decided to move on from the organization after 11 long years of service.
Ayesha has totally 26 years of journalism expertise, having worked with Asian Age, Aajtak , Star News in the past. She has extensively covered the Sri Lanka conflict and elections in 11 Indian states and 5 General elections.
During her tenure at Doordarshan News, Khanum covered several significant events and stories, earning her a reputation as one of the most respected and trusted journalists in the industry. Ayesha has widely travelled abroad on several international assignments and also accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Ayesha Khanum’s resignation comes as a surprise to many in the industry, as she was widely respected for her professionalism and dedication to her craft. Her departure marks a significant loss for Doordarshan News, and her fans and colleagues alike will miss her presence on the channel.
