INDIA: AirAsia, the World’s Best Low Cost Airline for the 15th year, welcomes Indian travelers to explore Asia, Australia, and beyond. Soon, their expansive network will link 16 Indian cities to over 130 destinations via Malaysia and Thailand.
AirAsia will offer a unique “cinematic in-flight” experience in selected cinemas nationwide to highlight its diverse destinations as part of the movie-goers’ experience, aligning with the company’s expansion.
AirAsia’s collaboration with over 130 cinemas in 12 cities over six months will boost outreach. Movie-goers can win AirAsia flights anywhere in its network. The airline will partner with local travel content creators to highlight destinations across Asia, Australia, and more, featuring cities, beaches, landmarks, and local cultures.
AirAsia expands post-pandemic routes for India in 2024, offering direct flights to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok hubs, connecting to 130+ destinations worldwide. It links cities like Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Hyderabad among others. New flights from Guwahati, Kozhikode, and Lucknow to Kuala Lumpur, and Tiruchirapalli to Bangkok will start soon.
AirAsia has expanded with new routes to Almaty and Nairobi, enabling affordable travel from Asia through Kuala Lumpur. The airline recently won top awards for service excellence and affordability, solidifying its position in the industry.

Since early 2024, we have expanded our network in India with 10 additional routes, bringing the total to 26 routes from India to Malaysia and Thailand. AirAsia started in Malaysia in late 2001 with two planes, introducing low-cost travel. They opened the first India-Malaysia route in 2008.
