After an illustrious 28-year career in the media industry, M V Nikesh Kumar, the Editor-in-Chief of Reporter TV, has decided to step down from his editorial duties.
“This departure from the media field is part of my decision to become active in politics, motivated by a long-standing desire to serve the public,” he said in a live program on Reporter TV.
He has resigned from his official duties at Reporter TV.
Kumar is a prominent Indian journalist and media personality known for his influential role in the Malayalam television industry. He began his career as a news anchor and has worked with major Malayalam news channels, such as Asianet and India Vision. His career trajectory took a significant turn when he became the Managing Director of Reporter TV, a Malayalam news channel known for its investigative journalism and in-depth reporting.
Kumar is the son of the renowned politician M. V. Raghavan, and his background has significantly shaped his approach to journalism, often focusing on political and social issues. He has also ventured into politics himself, joining the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and contesting elections.
Throughout his career, Kumar has been recognized for his contributions to the media industry, receiving various accolades, including the Ramnath Goenka Award, and establishing himself as a respected figure in journalism.
