Nitin Paranjpe, Unilever’s Chief People & Transformation Officer, announced his retirement after a 37-year tenure with the company.
Paranjpe’s LinkedIn post read, “As I leave Unilever, I wanted to take the time to say thank you to all employees, past and present, who have made working here such a pleasure and privilege.
It further added, “I realise I can’t possibly thank everyone I have worked with – after 37 years, the co-workers are too numerous to count – but I did want to particularly call out the teams I worked closely with more recently in my current role in HR and Transformation, and in my time as COO; as President of Foods & Refreshments; and earlier as President of Home Care. Also, a big thank you to everyone in Hindustan Unilever with whom I got a chance to work closely over many years.”
Paranjpe started his journey at Unilever, then called Hindustan Lever (HLL), in June 1987, entering the company through a management training program.
“People have often asked me what makes this company so special. My answer has always been its people and unique culture. It’s rare, very rare, to find so many people who are exceptional professionals but also wonderful human beings. People who you want as your friends. In fact, some of my closest friends have been from the company,” the post read.
Throughout his almost 40-year career, Paranjpe took on multiple positions within the company, each playing a part in his professional development and achievements.
“I will miss all my colleagues and friends, and I will look back on the time I spent working with so many talented individuals and teams with true pride. Thank you,” he said.
