Chennai: The Daily Thanthi Group, a prominent media conglomerate known for its flagship Tamil newspaper, has expanded its footprint into the entertainment sector with the launch of Thanthi1 a General Entertainment Channel (GEC). According to sources within the channel, Thanthi1 is scheduled to be launched on May 19, 2024.
The promotional video released by the media group highlights Thanthi1 as the first regional channel to broadcast unexplored international content in Tamil. It promises to showcase stories of ordinary people crafting extraordinary destinies, aiming to bring fresh and engaging content to Tamil-speaking audiences.
The channel’s lineup includes a variety of content, such as devotional shows like “Bala Krishna,” “Ganapathiye Varuvai,” and “Veera Anjaneya.” Additionally, it will feature fiction shows like “Ilavarasi,” “Thamarai,” “Chellame,” and historical dramas.
Thanthi1 aims to provide entertainment through multiple platforms, including Live-Linear broadcasting, YouTube, and the Thanthi1 app, ensuring accessibility to a wide audience.
