Prasar Bharati has garnered nearly Rs 288 crore in the first two days of the auction, selling 13 slots for the period from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. Bucket A+, which includes GEC channels, secured six slots, fetching bids ranging from Rs 19.05 crore to Rs 21.25 crore.
The entire bucket, comprising channels like Manoranjan TV and Masti, was sold for over Rs 123 crore. Prasar Bharati earned Rs 171.5 crore from Bucket A, which includes six slots for Hindi/Urdu movie channels, surpassing the Rs 12 crore reserve price.
The highest bid in this category reached Rs 18.30 crore, and the lowest was Rs 17.50 crore. Channels like Colors Rishtey Cineplex, Zee Anmol Cinema, and Star Gold Thrill secured slots.
In Bucket B, encompassing music, sports, Bhojpuri language, and other genres in Hindi/Urdu, Chumbak TV secured a slot for Rs 16.75 crore, exceeding the Rs 10 crore reserve price. The auction for other categories is set to continue today.
