Deepshikha Dharmaraj, Chief Executive Officer, BCW India Group and Genesis BCW, is the PR jury president for the 2024 D&AD Awards and Sonal Chhajerh, Group Executive Creative Director at Leo Burnett, is the president of the Direct Jury. They are among the over 350 creative experts from over 50 countries across the globe who have been selected to judge the global creativity awards. 67 experts are from the Asia Pacific. 10 are from India. Last year India won eight awards. Winners are awarded with the design of a Pencil.
Creatives from India joining the judging team of 2024 include Ogilvy India’s Kainaz Karmakar, Famous Innovations’ Raj Kamble, FCB Ulka’s Shailesh Vasudeo Khandeparkar (Art Direction), Ashok Karkala from Ogilvy Mumbai, Koushik Sarkar from Kitchen.Video, Roshnee Desai from LOCAL, Nilima Eriyat from Studio Eeksaurus Productions and Sulekha Rajkumar.
The 62nd annual awards programme will occur at the new location of County Hall and Southbank Centre on the London Southbank from 18-22 May, 2024. Other industry experts joining the 2024 juries from the Asia Pacific include Tea Uglow on the Impact Jury; Tiger Pan who is on the Packaging Design Jury; Yoshihiro Yagi on the Art Direction Jury; Kyoko Yonezawa on the Digital and Social Jury; Jacqui Lim on the Media Jury; Leisa Wall on the Commerce Jury; Jureeporn Thaidumrong on the Entertainment Jury; Joey David Tiempo on the Gaming and Virtual Worlds Jury; David Guerrero on the Film Jury; Woon Hoh on the Press and Outdoor Jury and Ken-tsai Lee on the Typography Jury.
These jury members the organisers of the awards show said have been selected to come together for live judging of the past year’s best work across the global design and advertising industries. They will award creative excellence with the belief that creativity is a major driver in commercial, economic, social and cultural success and will recognise work that inspires established talent and encourages the next generation.
Following four days of live judging, the D&AD Awards Ceremony will be held as the culminating event of the D&AD Festival at the Southbank Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hall Building. The Festival will gather these global creative leaders and feature over 80 speakers, two main stages, the Masterclass stage, activations, Jury insights, networking, parties and a first view of some of the shortlisted work on display.
D&AD awards director Donal Keenan commented, “Judging the D&AD Awards is not only a massive honour but a huge responsibility to uphold the integrity, rigour and standards that D&AD is renowned for. Entries to these awards actively support D&AD’s mission as an educational charity by funding learning programmes that bridge the gap between education and industry.
