Star Vijay is set to revamp its fiction offering with the launch of two new fiction series titled ‘Thangamagal’ and ‘Chinna Marumagal’ scheduled to premiere on 22nd January 2024.
Thangamagal is scheduled to airing from Monday to Saturday in the afternoon time band at 3 pm while Chinna Marumagal airs in prime time at 9:30 pm replacing Bigg Boss.
The storyline of Thangamagal follows Hasini, a wealthy and carefree young woman who accidentally causes the death of an innocent man. Pressured by her mother, Hasini must seek forgiveness from the victim’s family or face imprisonment. Opting to enter the family as a maid, Hasini endeavors to win their hearts and mercy. Despite handling unfamiliar situations with ease, Hasini firmly believes that money can resolve any issue. On the other hand, Muthupandi, a high-spirited and easy-going individual with a fourth-grade education, believes he knows everything and is short-tempered. Living with his elder sister’s family, who suffered the loss of her husband in an accident caused by Hasini, the plot unfolds with unexpected twists and turns.
The storyline of Chinna Marumagal revolves around Rajangam’s family, led by OAK Sundar, known for their regressive and patriarchal beliefs. Rajangam’s authoritative words are treated as orders by the entire family, instilling fear among them. The family staunchly opposes women’s education and refuses to entertain any pursuit of knowledge by the female members. In this setting, Sethupathy, who shares the family’s sentiments against women’s education, expresses his desire to marry Thamizhselvi.
As the wealthiest family in a Madurai village, Thamizhselvi’s family finds themselves unable to resist, leading to Thamizhselvi’s marriage to Sethupathy. Despite being a school-going girl with dreams of becoming a doctor, Thamizhselvi sacrifices her aspirations and enters the austere and uncompromising family. The story unfolds with numerous surprises, twists, and turns as Thamizhselvi becomes a part of the family.
