Oreo launched its campaign for the ongoing World Cup a month ago, with a twist. The brand, and brand ambassador cricketer Mahindra Singh Dhoni, are insisting ‘Kuch Mat Bol’.
In the campaign launch film, a news presenter is with two cricket experts discussing the possibility of India winning the World Cup and the team’s chances. They are interrupted by Dhoni joining them, and offering them Oreo biscuits. Thrilled at this development, the presenter wants Dhoni’s views on what the team’s chances are, when the latter tells him that we should not discuss the World Cup, its outcome, our team’s performance and its chances. When the presenter asks why, Dhoni only hints at it, but one of the experts spells it out saying it is not considered a good omen to do so. The presenter is left perplexed about what he should say, when having said his piece, Dhoni leaves his set, reminding him, ‘Oreo Bola Mat Bol’.
The brand is continuing with the campaign as India takes on New Zealand in the semi-final match in Mumbai today.

The brand has also created a filter on Instagram to engage the ‘Oreo Bola Mat Bol’ “army”.
