Sony Pictures Networks India and Royal Rajasthan Foundation, the philanthropic arm of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, have launched a campaign themed #KhulKeBolo to encourage women to open up to avoid and address mental health issues.
Suppression of their emotions and pains leads to mental pressure building up akin to a pressure cooker, shows the campaign film that features actor Sonali Kulkarni. The film, now live on the brand’s social media handles, captures women of different ages from different walks of life shielding themselves and their feelings from everyone around them and suffering from within. The actor urges women to open up to their friends or loved ones or a doctor, inviting them to call the #KhulKeBolo helpline if they need someone to open up to.

The campaign partners also hosted a panel discussion with experts to discuss the stigma around mental health and the factors stopping women from speaking up.
An official statement on the launch quoted experts as saying that there is a stark shortage of mental health professionals in the country, with less than 1pc of the country’s total health budget being allocated for mental health wellness, creating a treatment gap of 70 to 80 pc.
“These factors, coupled with the stigmatisation in society around the topic and the lack of access to mental health infrastructure, have continued to be a challenge for women from various walks of life in the country,” the statement added.
