Air India has launched a new inflight magazine namaste.ai, as part of its ongoing transformation journey. namaste.ai will be available on board Air India domestic and international flights, starting July 25, 2023.
namaste.ai was preceded by bi-lingual magazine Shubh Yatra that made its debut in 2013. Prior to that, Swagat was the in-flight magazine. The airline also had a magazine exclusively on international routes at one point, called Namaskar.
namaste.ai is positioned as a premium travel and lifestyle magazine, reflecting Air India’s vision of becoming ‘a world-class global airline with an Indian heart’.
Campbell Wilson, CEO & MD, Air India, said, “The name namaste.ai comes from the Indian greeting. Apart from being a land of diverse geographies, people, and cultures, India is known for its warm hospitality. Through namaste.ai, we will attempt to give our guests a glimpse of all that and more. We want to enhance our guests’ experience of flying with us even more pleasurable.”
Keeping with the formula of in-flight magazines, namaste.ai will feature travel destinations and lifestyle content from technology, culinary arts, culture and showbiz. It will also feature updates from Air India and its ongoing transformation initiatives.
The inaugural edition features a cover story on JRD Tata as a tribute to the ‘Father of Indian Aviation’ to mark his birth anniversary on July 29.
The legacy of JRD Tata’s indomitable spirit of entrepreneurship and pursuit of excellence continues to inspire Air India to reclaim its position in the upper echelons of global aviation, informed an airline statement.
