Bengaluru: Kannada News and Current affairs channel News 1st has been rebranded as News 1st Kannada effective from 1st April 2023.
Due to the name change, BARC has started monitoring the channel afresh from 1st April 2023. Ratings for News 1st Kannada will be temporarily paused during this changeover period. The ratings pause will be effective for a period of 6-8 weeks, post which the ratings will resume, revealed the statement issued by the channel.
Divaakar S – Business Head of News 1st Kannada said, “The rebranding will ensure the fastest growing News Channel in Karnataka to establish a deep rooted connection with Kannadigas. Moreover, this also marks a new beginning for our business as we have acquired our own broadcast licence from the information and broadcasting ministry. This will enable us to strengthen our strategy with long term business goals.”
