Somashree Chakraborty, the former Deputy Vice President of HDFC Bank, announced in a LinkedIn post that he has joined Bank of America in India as the Vice President of Communications.
A first class graduate from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Chakraborty started his career in Communications as a Principal Correspondent for TickerNews Service in 2010.
He also worked at Business Standard as Senior Special Correspondent and Special Correspondent for four years.
At SREI, as VP of PR, he led the projects on the Viom stake sale to American Tower Corporation, the Bharat Road Network Limited IPO, and Happy Rainbow Box.
HDFC made him responsible for creating communication plans on secure banking, information security, technology and digital transformation where he led key projects like Festive Treats 3.0, Mooh Bandh Rakho, HDFC-HDFC Bank merger announcement, and the Vigil Aunty.
Aside from being awarded a Silver Star for media amplification of a key retail event, he was also the lead for branch banking business units across key regional markets, including East, North-East, and Central India, encompassing 15 states and union territories.
