Akshat Sahu, who resigned from his earlier post as ShareChat’s Head of Marketing last year, has announced that he has joined the Sony-owned OTT service, Crunchyroll revealing the developments through his LinkedIn post.
Crunchyroll is an anime platform that offers access to content available only in Japan as well as a slew of other East Asian content.
At ShareChat, Sahu was responsible for the social media platform’s consumer and business marketing. Prior to ShareChat, Sahu was a Marketing Head and VP of Disney Star Sports’ Emerging Sports division. He has also worked as section after which he chaired ShareChat’s marketing department, he has also worked as Business Head at Star TV and as Brand Manager at for VIP Industries.
At Star Sports, he headed the marketing strategy for Indian football, Kabaddi, Hockey , and Badminton. At Star TV, he ran the operations for Channel [V], managing P&L.
At VIP, he was also responsible for launching their line of luggage, Skybags, as a stand-alone product for millennial travelers.
Sahu is a graduate from MICA, and brings with him 15 years of cumulative experience.
