Henkel Consumer Brands unveil growth plans to expand in India’s hair market

Henkel Consumer Brands, a German consumer goods company, unveil plans to consolidate its position in the Indian hair colour and care market in India with its recent milestones spanning across the professional and consumer side of its business.

Schwarzkopf, with a legacy of 120+ years, has been at the forefront of innovation – combining quality ingredients with the latest hair focused technology. Known for its professional superiority and science backed hair innovations, the brand for the very first time enters the at-home hair colour category – launching a superlative assortment of home hair colour solutions across two exciting ranges – Colour Specialist and Simply Color. While the newly launched products enjoy a loyal fan base globally, the brand has strategically hand-picked shades that compliment Indian skin tones, for the India launch.

The Indian hair colourant market has seen one of the strongest growth trajectories in the recent years and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 17.5% until 2026 led by increasing urbanisation and evolving lifestyles. The pandemic also brought a major shift in consumer behavior, pushing at-home convenience to the top of the priority list – making it an opportune moment for the brand to enter the industry.

Henkel Consumer Brands has also added another feather in its cap with Schwarzkopf Professional, the professional hair solutions arm, announcing Mira Rajput Kapoor as their first-ever Hair Muse in India. Widely known for her grace and elegance, Mira embodies the brand’s ethos and values of being innovative, empowering and ever evolving. Mira will represent and advocate a key brand milestone as Schwarzkopf Professional launches a powerful campaign that brings forth the brand’s global legacy of transforming, reinventing and elevating hair.
