Grants-in aid amounting to Rs 2790.71 crore was released to Prasar Bharati during the financial year 2021-22, as per the Information & Broadcasting ministry’s Accounts at a glance report.
During the last three years, the Ministry has released a sum of Rs 8823.60 Crores to Prasar Bharati.
As per the report, the ministry’s total budget for the year was Rs 4079.71 crore, which comprises a revenue budget of Rs 4058.61 crore and capital of Rs 21.10 crore.
The spend on information stood at Rs 593.54 crore and for the film it was Rs 259.29. The secretariat spent a total of Rs 85.45 crore.Over the last three years, the Press Information Bureau spent Rs 286.23 crore for its various activities.
An amount of Rs 93.13 crore as grants-in-aid was released to the Indian Institute of Mass Communications by the ministry out of which Rs 27.15 crore were released in the years 2021–22.
During the last three years, the Ministry had released Rs 28.91 crores as grants-in-aid to the Press Council Of India out of which Rs 11.85 crores were released in the year 2021-22.
Revenue earned from DTH stood at Rs 1,581.41 crore. The revenue earned from FM channels stood at Rs 150 crores.
