Bengaluru-based wellness firm Vieroots Wellness Solutions Private Limited, which is backed by Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, is eyeing a fund raise of $10 million to expand its business which is currently online, by taking the retail route. The firm is planning to launch interactive and tech-driven experiential stores in major metros, tier 1 and tier 2 cities and the launch of new products.
Speaking with Medianews4u, Sajeev Nair, Chairman, Vieroots, says, “Our business model would be a combination of D2C and B2C. To begin with, the experiential stores will be opened in major metros, namely Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai by 2023. Later, we will expand to other parts of India using the franchise route.”
Products from Vieroots are bucketed as Thoughtbotics, Anti-oxidants, General Wellness and Longevity. It also offers personalised services under the names Nutrigenome and EPLIMO.
The firm’s major source of revenue is the personalised lifestyle modification using epigenetics offering (EPLIMO), reveals Nair..
“If you look at the major contributor of revenue from the product side, it is antioxidants. From the service side, it is EPLIMO. At the moment, EPLIMO is prescribing highly personalised lifestyle modification plans by correlating data captured by personal genomics and metabolic assessment tests. In the next phase of growth, we’ll be taking EPLIMO to Web 3.0. In this phase, our EPLIMO clients will receive guidance for 12 weeks from our certified lifestyle coaches on Limoverse,” he explains.
The highest contributor to Vieroots business currently is South India. Kerala is the largest contributor asa a state, while Bengaluru brings in maximum revenues among cities. Nationally, major contributors are tier 2 cities like Chandigarh and Pune, according to Nair.
On the product side, Vieroots is focused on human longevity and weight management products.
“On the launch of new products, we are focused on two to three segments. First and foremost is human longevity, which is a core issue of late, where people are living longer. At the same time, they are encountering different lifestyle diseases at a very young age. We are giving focus to the segment and will launch products soon. We have also noticed that there is a huge gap in the weight management products. Most of the products are fat-burning capsules. Vieroots, for the last two years, have been using the scientific methods following the genomic and metabolic assessments to bring out an innovative product,” says Nair.
Vieroots was launched in 2019, with trial runs in places like Kochi, Surat and Chandigarh. Its commercial launch happened in November 2020.
“I would rather say we completed one year officially in 2022 and clocked gross revenue of Rs.14.8 crore. For this financial year, we are eyeing a revenue of Rs 25 to 30 crore,” says Nair.
Vieroots, which is largely focused on digital marketing for, is also planning to resort to other mass media vehicles to launch campaigns.
