Sheryl Sandberg has stepped down as Chief Operating Officer from Meta after a stint of over 14 years. She joined Facebook in 2008 and helped it transform from a startup into a multibillion-dollar tech powerhouse. She made this announcement on her Instagram post.
Sandberg has served as CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s top lieutenant and is one of the world’s most influential business leaders. Javier Olivan, who has led the company’s growth efforts for years, will take Sandberg’s place as COO when she formally steps down in the fall. She will remain on the company’s board.
