Zee Media Corporation has reported its Financial Results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2022. The operating revenue has increased by 33.6% to Rs 866.86 cr in FY22 compared to Rs 649.07 cr in the previous fiscal.
The expenditure increased by 42.2% to Rs 613.2 cr from Rs 431.2 cr; Ad revenue increased by 36.4% to Rs 822.6 cr from Rs 603 cr, the subscription revenue declined by 3.4% to Rs 38.49 cr from Rs 39.8 cr; revenue from other sales and services declined by 7% from Rs 6.1 cr to Rs 5.7 cr.
Operating costs were up by 49.4% from Rs 86.6 cr to Rs 129.4 cr in FY22. Employee benefits expenses rose by 31.5% to Rs 219.9 cr from Rs 167.3 cr; Marketing, Distribution, and Business Promotion Expenses also hiked to 35.1% from Rs 61.1 cr to Rs 82.6 cr. The company reported a net loss of Rs 117.7 cr against a net profit of Rs 75.74 cr. Operating profit increased by 16.4% from Rs 217.8 cr to Rs 253.6 cr.
For Q4 FY22, the operating revenue increased by 35.4% to Rs 247.73 cr compared to Rs 182.9 cr in Q4 FY21; expenditure inceased by 54.1% to Rs 189.13 cr from Rs 122.73 cr. Operating profit dipped by 2.7% to Rs 58.6 cr from Rs 60.2 cr. The company slipped into a net loss of Rs 51.45 cr against a net profit of Rs 10.5 cr.
The media company’s advertising revenue increased by 39.4% to Rs 237 cr from Rs 170.1 cr; subscription revenue dipped by 20% from Rs 11.5 cr to Rs 9.2 cr; revenue from other sales and services increased by 11.3% from Rs 1.3 cr to Rs 1.44 cr.
