Journey
When we started the AdYogi journey back in 2014, we weren’t as hands-on about eCommerce or marketing. At the time, the “Direct-to-consumer” terminology hadn’t been coined yet and there were definitely no big VC funds chasing around DTC brands. In fact, most retail brands were not as warm towards the idea of having an online presence; they weren’t even considering building their own websites. Plus, it was still early days for Shopify in India.
So in that sense, we were very early to the party. Amid all this, we were approached by a boutique store in Mumbai that wanted us to run Facebook ads for its online website. That’s all that was the start. And today when I look back, a lot has happened in these last 7 years and we are absolutely excited to have witnessed the evolution of this industry.
Inspiration & inspiring the Team
I am inspired by some of the Indian product companies like Zoho and fresh desk which have scaled globally. For us at AdYogi too, the vision is to build a global SAAS company. we have open forums where any team member can come up with product recommendations. These are added to the roadmap. We also roll out weekly updates to the product. Idea is how we continuously improve to build a product of global standards.
Empowerment of Women
AdYogi has a strong 50% female-employee workforce, and the majority of our high-spending clients are managed by women. This pretty much explains the inclusivity of women in AdYogi. We are proud to be a gender-inclusive community where we recognize and reward all leaders who are driving progress. We have dedicated a great deal of thought and work to creating a culture where all genders – including women – feel valued and appreciated.
Along with our internal marketers, we also have a long list of female-led eCommerce clients working with us. For instance, Bunaai by PariChoudary, Amrutham by Stuti, Amala earth by Gunjanpodha, Metro Mochi, Rareism, among others. We are glad to be a significant contributor to the eCommerce and D2C sectors where women are rising to the moment as stronger leaders.
“The women task force is the dominating task force at AdYogi. There are equal and prominent opportunities for women to grow professionally here which you can see in the female mentors’ team and in most of our leadership roles. The women of AdYogi bring in a lot of input in terms of industry learning, creative inputs, and emotional intelligence that has helped them manage and scale 50%+ of our highest-paying clients. Women have strong intuitiveness, creativity, along with a business understanding and I think that’s what really sets us apart from the men in the digital marketing industry.”
