India is well positioned to become the content subcontinent of the world, said, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
“There’s immense potential across growing sectors like Animation, VFX, Gaming and Comics sectors in the country. India could become the post-production and film-making hub of the world,” added Shri Thakur. The Minister toured the India Pavilion yesterday starting his engagements during the ongoing ‘Media & Entertainment Fortnight’.
Shri Thakur said, “India Pavilion has a lot to showcase about the cultural heritage of the country especially as we celebrate our 75 years of Independence. This has generated a lot of interest among visitors. India and the UAE enjoy great bilateral relationship and Indians have played an important role in its growth story. This relationship will further strengthen in years to come.”
“India’s media & entertainment sector has showcased the country’s growth story over the years.
We have a large pool of talented people not only in film making but also in the IT,” added the I&B Minister.
Shri Thakur will be meeting Mr. Oliver Bramly, CEO, E-Vision, Mr. Issam Kazim CEO – Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Mr. Jamal Al Sharif, Executive Board Member at Dubai Film and TV Commission, Dubai Development Authority, Mr. Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director, Dubai Studio City, and CEOs of the leading M&E companies in Dubai and also participate in a session on, ‘Celebrating the global reach of Indian Media & Entertainment Industry’ with eminent film personality, Mr. Ranveer Singh.
The ‘Media & Entertainment Fortnight’ will conclude on March 31st.
