Mumbai: Warner Music India and JioSaavn today announced the launch of ‘Spotted’- an artist discovery program. The program is designed to bring together the ecosystem that enables artists to reach their optimum potential. As a DSP, JioSaavn will collaborate with Warner Music India, to be able to release audio and video content. This partnership will create a stimulating environment for creators.
In an endeavour to win the hearts and minds of their listeners on a day to day basis, Spotted will reach far and wide across the country to mine new talent. April onwards, aspiring musicians and singers will be able to upload their original tracks on a microsite. The program will discover one artist per month who will be chosen by industry veterans, namely – Salim Merchant, Divine, Jonita Gandhi and Papon. This unique program is a step forward in the commitment to being the home of discovering new talent and sounds and celebrating the most loved voices from the business by these music industry leaders.
Speaking about Spotted, music composer Salim Merchant mentioned, “I am super thrilled to be a part of this initiative. The idea of giving upcoming artists a platform to showcase their talent has always resonated with me and I’m really looking forward to this!”
Rapper Divine added, saying, “Every gully across India has a unique sound and I am delighted that I get to be a part of this program designed to find the Dhun of every gully.”
Musical Artist Jonita Gandhi mentioned, “Spotted is such a great initiative for aspiring artists looking for opportunities to be discovered. I hope this new wave of talent will be encouraged to follow their musical dreams, like I was.”
Playback singer and composer Papon, who also sings in multiple languages said, “ Every language, every city, every dialect has its own melody. I am keen to see what Spotted will discover in the coming months..”

Spotted will discover new artists from various regions of the country each month, the artists will be scouted from the East, West, North and South regions with Hindi, English and Punjabi as separate categories. In addition to aiming for maximum representation from all regions of the country, the partners will also ensure all discovered artists be supported with a robust plan to get them noticed across the industry.
The discovered artists will be featured on the Spotted playlist on JioSaavn and will also be featured in stories on Rolling Stone India. With this initiative Warner Music India and JioSaavn will create a program that will add value to the growth of the audio industry in the country.
