Journey
The journey of entrepreneurship is literally jumping off a cliff and assembling a plane as you descend. It hasn’t been a stroll through a garden but each day has been exhilarating or a moment of learning. Never a dull day as they say! The challenges only shape you to become a better version of yourself and more resilient which percolates in your personal and professional life. I Am thankful and grateful for a super support system at work and at home. The true heroes who really take us to the stars.
My core mantra has always been ‘Be hungry for more, but don’t get greedy’, which has always made me strive for more, look to achieve greater things but maintain quality and only up that mark.
Inspiring Women
My biggest inspiration has been my grandfather who taught me simple lessons like never keep debt (even to the last single paisa), a verbal promise is as good as a written one and ‘Do good, expect none’ which keeps the balance and humanity in you alive.
I also credit a large part of my learning’s to a fantastic set of bosses and mentors – Natasha Pal, Meenakshi Verma and my colleagues like Shweta who continue to inspire and lead with change.
Managing a team and running operations is a different ball game and I lean on podcasts, interesting shows and conversations which make it to daily strategies, lunch time snippets and shareable on social media. Those keep the momentum going. Nothing is more effective than transparent communication and I think that is the single most important factor when we inspire or talk to teams!
My key to fostering an inspiring environment is for my team to feel free to fail. Failing is a part of learning something new. The idea of failing sometimes impedes creativity & flow of ideas which ultimately prevents them to work at their full potential. I like to let my team know that I have their back if they fail & that they can feel safe to try new things.
Empowering Women
Feminine energy is invaluable and has a significant place in this world. When I imagine an empowered woman, I see a woman who is comfortable in her own skin. A woman who does not fear to use her voice and speak her truth, regardless of what others think. She is humble yet brave, living her life aligned with her values, passions and vision for herself. In the bigger picture, our world needs women to be themselves, be that soft or hard. Women empowerment seeks to kindle the confidence in women by providing to them everything in their capacity to nurture, polish and sharpen existing skills which is only made possible through better education, awareness and a space to freely express oneself. When women are living safe, fulfilled and productive lives, they are bound to reach their full potential. And at the end of the day, we all need a vocabulary and mind shift change towards this.
