New Delhi: In keeping with its focus on normalizing conversations around mental health and creating awareness on the importance of safeguarding mental and physical well-being, Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited is donating 8500 masks to the BMC. These masks will be utilized by the health department of BMC and be distributed to doctors, on-ground workers, institutional quarantine workers, workers at airport and railway stations. Each mask will carry a message on the prevention of mental illness, while also encouraging people who suffer from mental illness to speak about their condition.
The BMC has always stood at the frontline and protected the city not just by keeping it clean and habitable but also by playing the role of a catalyst orchestrating the public health infrastructure during the pandemic. This makes them vulnerable to both COVID-19 as well as mental health issues. Thus, it is only right that we support them through such initiatives.
Ruchika Varma, Chief Marketing Officer, Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited, said, “As a responsible insurer and a purpose-led brand, we have been at the forefront of creating thought-provoking campaigns towards educating our citizens and creating awareness on mental health.
Over the past two years, our frontline workers have held the mantle of safeguarding public health, putting their own health and safety at stake. Through this donation, we would like to support BMC workers with adequate protection for their physical health and also create awareness on mental health. If there is one thing that the pandemic has taught us, it is the need to show empathy and support those who populate the ecosystems around us.”
