Former Netflix India- Head of Acquisition- Original Films, Abhishek Vyas has collaborated with the Royal Office of HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al Qassimi. As a part of this association, Vyas has set up AVS Filmworks in Dubai, a joint-venture (JV) with the Royal Office. The plan is to invest about 150mn USD into the Indian content business.
Vyas announced the collaboration through a LinkedIn post, “It gives me immense pleasure to announce my partnership with the Royal Office of HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al Qassimi. As a part of this collaboration, I have setup AVS Filmworks in Dubai, a joint-venture (JV) with the Royal Office. The plan is to invest about 150mn USD into the Indian content business.”
AVS Filmworks will be producing content (films and series) across Indian languages.
“The Joint Venture is focused on bringing top notch stories and talent to the Indian audience and Indie cine lovers across the world. I have had the opportunity to be deeply entrenched in the Indian film industry having worked with some of the leading studios and OTT in the country. The experience has allowed me to be in the middle of the filmmaking process, right from an idea to its release. With this new venture I shift gears as I move to becoming an independent film producer,” he stated.
