The ad volumes on Radio saw a rise of 3% during Jul-Sep’21 over Jan-Mar’21, whereas it was decreased during Apr-Jun’21 over Jan-Mar’21. The ad volumes on Radio soared in Jul-Sep’21, with a growth of 48% over Jul-Sep’20. The count of Categories, Advertisers and Brands increased by 3%, 14%, and 16% respectively during Jul-Sep’21 over Jul-Sep’20.
Service sector topped during both Jul-Sep’21 and Jul-Sep’20 followed by Food & Beverages on 2nd place which was ranked 3rd in Jul-Sep’20. The top 3 sectors together added 52% share of Ad Volumes during Jul-Sep’21. Properties/Real Estates topped during Jul-Sep’21, while it was in 2nd position during Jul-Sep’20. Hospital/Clinics moved up by 4 positions to reach 3rd rank replacing Life Insurance. The top 10 categories had a 46% share of ad volumes.
Properties/Real Estates among categories saw the highest increase in Ad Volumes with a growth of 99% followed by Retail Outlets-Jewellers with 2.5 Times growth during Jul-Sep’21 compared to Jul-Sep’20. In terms of growth %, Ecom-Auto Products & Services category witnessed the highest growth % among the Top 10 i.e. 535 Times in the Jul-Sep’21.
LIC of India topped the list during Jul-Sep’21 followed by Vishnu Packaging. The top 10 advertisers together added a 17% share of ad volumes. 3 out of the Top 10 brands were from the LIC of India. The Top 10 brands together added an 11% share of ad volumes. Around 2.5K+ exclusive advertisers and 3.1K+ exclusive brands advertised during Jul-Sep’21 compared to Jul-Sep’20. SBS Biotech & Tata Intra were the top exclusive advertiser and brands respectively during Jul-Sep’21.
During July-Sep of this year, there were 1000+ consistent advertisers and 1050+ consistent brands advertised, compared to July-September of last year. LIC of India and Vimal Pan Masala topped the list of consistent advertisers and brands respectively during Jul-Sep’21.
Gujarat was the top state, accounting for 20% of all ad volumes, followed by Maharashtra at 15%. In Jul-Sep of this year, the top three states accounted for 43% of all radio advertising. Ahmedabad was the top city in Gujarat as well as across India.
During the months of July-Sep of this year, radio advertising was preferred in the evening and morning time bands, with 37% and 32% of ad volumes, respectively.
