New Delhi: Several programmes are being broadcast by All India Radio to mark Christmas Day, the birth anniversary of Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya, birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and National Good Governance Day on 25 December.
These are at the National and Local Levels in different formats.
These include a Discussion on ‘Shiksha Ke Badalte Moolya Aur Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya’ on 25 December at 10 p.m.; ‘Vartaaon Ka Akhil Bharatiya Karyakram’: Paricharcha – ‘Suvikhayat Raajneta Aur Poorv Pradhan Mantri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ka Rashtra Nirman Mein Yogdaan’ on 22 December at 9:30 p.m. both on Indraspratha Channel of AIR Delhi; and a programme ‘Public Speak’ on ‘Good Governance and Atal Bihari Vajpayee’ on 22 December on FM Gold Channels of AIR.
A feature in Hindi entitled ‘Geet Naya Gaataa Hoon’ will be broadcast on 24 December from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Indraprastha Channel of AIR Delhi. This will be relayed by all multi-channel AIR stations on one of their channels and all FM Rainbow channels of AIR. Other interested AIR stations may also relay.
There will be a broadcast on 24 December at 9:30 p.m. of the recording of ‘Tarahi Kavi Sammelan’ organised earlier on 11 December before invited audience in New Delhi on the National Channel of AIR.
The programme ‘Atalji Ki Bachon Se Baatcheet’ on 25 December at 9:05 a.m. on Indraprastha channel of AIR Delhi and a discussion in English on ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee – Style of Good Governance’ on the same day from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Rajdhani Channel of AIR Delhi will be broadcast.
An interview will be aired with former Army Chief General (Retd.) Ved Prakash Malik recounting moments of the victory during and after the Kargil war on 25 December at 9:15 p.m. on Indraprastha channel of AIR Delhi.
There will be a discussion in English on ‘Contribution of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Good Governance’ on 25 December at 9:30 p.m. on Rajdhani Channel of AIR Delhi.
On the occasion of Christmas, All India Radio stations mount their own programmes involving the Church authorities as well as talents of their respective coverage areas. For instance, AIR Delhi broadcasts a message by the Archbishop on the eve of Christmas. Christmas carols are broadcast in devotional music as well as western music programmes. There is dial-out phone-in programme on FM Rainbow channel.
The External Services Division of AIR will broadcast Christmas delicacies –Talks by Albina Michael on 23 December; and Christmas Message by Prof. Devisyam Anthony, Prof. Hindu College, Delhi on 25 December.
