The Diwali 2021 recorded high sales figure in the last 10 years and clocked business of Rs 1.25 lakh crore, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said on Friday.
“For Diwali sales, the people thronged the markets fiercely and helping in generating huge business to the tune of Rs 1.25 crore which is record trade figure in the last 10 years on the occasion of Diwali,” the Trader’s association said in a statement.
The trader’s association of 70 million traders stated that such a massive shopping has ended the economic slowdown in business which was continued in the markets for the last two years. The association further stated that the boom of sales during Diwali 2021 has also awakened the spark of better business prospects among the business community in the near future.
“Excited and encouraged by tremendous Diwali business, the traders across the country are now gearing up for the sale of wedding season scheduled to start from November 14th, the day of Dev Uthaan Ekadashi,” CAIT said.
In Delhi alone, the business clocked Rs 25,000 Crore. The CAIT also said that this year gold jewelry and silverware were purchased for more than Rs 9000 crore. This Diwali also brought a sizeable business to the tune od Rs 15,000 Crore for packaging commodities. This Diwali has inspired traders across the country to adopt new ways of doing business in view of new opportunities and great potential for future business in India.
