Mumbai: After the successful first season of Grand Trunk Rasoi, as one of the top 3 shows of the genre, Zee Zest is back with a brand-new season.
Grand Trunk Rasoi 2 continues the culinary journey with eminent ChefSaranshGoila – who takes viewers on an epicurean expedition, sharing anecdotes, trivia and lip-smacking recipes from regions across Asia’s longest and most iconic route. Each episode of this series creates an enriching experience with its engaging visuals and distinctive storytelling methods. It is filled to the brim with culinary wisdom, food traditions and tales full of tadka.

The show starts with the host connecting with a local chef, food expert or historian from the region who presents a unique ingredient that is harvested specifically in that region. Making the switch from farm to kitchen, Saransh shares the recipe of a regional specialty incorporating that ingredient. Taking a ‘Cheffie’ – a selfie with the dish, Saranshsharesit with the local experts to establish authenticity of the dishes. The show then takes a turn deep-diving into heritage with visits to local farms, bazaars and restaurants in the area.
Spiced up with a new segment on kitchen hacks – ‘rasoi ka raaz’ will resolve some of the common woes viewers face and share breezy tips to enhance their cooking. Viewers can look forward to learning the Kabuli method of peeling onions without tearing up, Kolkatta style fish frying to avoid oil splatter and more.
As one of India’s youngest awarded celebrity chefs, Saransh Goila brings his youthful, vibrant and curious personality to Grand Trunk Rasoi 2. Globally known for his irresistible rendition of the classic Butter Chicken, Saransh hails from a family that migrated from Sindh to Delhi during the partition. He adds a personal touch to the show by taking his mother’s recipes and recreating some of his childhood favourites. In his unimitable style, chef Saransh effortlessly engages in Hindi and English. His lighthearted banter and food-related rap poems, makefor a fun watch. The show explores some extraordinary dishes such as the Allahabad Christmas Cake, Delhi’s famous Rabri Falooda, Peshawar’s Gadda and many more.
