Mumbai: Eros Now, a leading OTT South Asian entertainment platform, announced that it has partnered with Jagran Prakashan Limited’s Mid-Day e-paper. The association allows Mid-Day digital readers to access to Eros Now’s massive content catalogue comprising over 12,000 movie titles, premium originals, music videos, short-form content, among others.
Staying a step ahead, Mid-Day had last year launched an interactive digital tabloid on mobile to keep its readers updated about the happenings in their city. For the first time ever in the history of print media, a first-of-a-kind digital tabloid was made available on the phone for an enhanced and convenient news reading experience for Mid-Day’s readers. This led to a substantial increase in publication’s reader base. The partnership between the two companies will offer an option to the potential subscribers to opt for an annual subscription of both, Mid-Day Digital Tabloid and Eros Now.
Commenting on the development, Manpreet Bumrah, Senior Vice President – Distribution & Alliances, Eros Now says, “Mid-Day’s digital offering has witnessed strong adoption, especially amongst the young and informed audience, the kind that also forms a large part of our consumer base. Today’s consumer is a digital enthusiast and is on a content consumption spree, be it news or entertainment. I am confident that our partnership will allow ease of access to quality news and premium entertainment content to the vast user base.”
Varsha Ojha, National Head, Marketing and Digital, Mid-day Infomedia says, “We at Mid-day are elated to partner with Eros Now to offer our readers unlimited entertainment at the tip of their fingers. Mid-Day’s digital tabloid is Mumbai’s first ever interactive tabloid that offers animated gifs, 3D infographics, animations, celeb interviews, LIVE festival streaming, interactive crossword and much more. This association is a testimony to how two different media platforms can come together to give digizens a unique content consumption experience. We are certain that this partnership will be a win–win for both the brands and will further strengthen our foothold digitally.”
The announcement comes at a time when digital entertainment has emerged as the medium of choice for the Indian audience, along with an increased preference for e-papers or online news. The deep internet penetration and accelerated digital consumption in India will boost and help strengthen a significant customer base for both the brands and further scale-up business growth. Through Mid-Day’s digital tabloid, readers can Flip pages with a smooth swipe; zoom into vivid photos; watch stories come alive with animated visual vocabulary, and much more.
